Late last night, I casually glanced at this on another sports site, today driving home they were talking about it on XM. Gio Gonazalez, nelson cruz, and several other players linked to a place in Florida. Now the State of Fla. Attorney Generals Office, DEA, and MLB, maybe other branches of state, fed government involved.

It is hard to believe that these players are that stupid. Why would these guys let anyone have their names after Balco?

I can't see A-Rod just retiring, he's far to big of an ego-maniac for that.

I could see him taking some sort of partial contract settlement allowing him to become an unrestricted FA. And his injury will likely be healed by the time teams are looking to add late season bats.

Bosch injected A-Rod.

move over canseco, mcgwire, clemens, bonds, etc. new head of the class #1 A-hole.
this guy arod has the makings of a pathological liar.
lance armstrong of baseball.

I just don't understand how in today's day and age you would think you will be capable of keeping this stuff a secret forever??? It's just not going to happen. Eventually someone is going to tell their story and spill the beans on you. I guess it's still worth it for them to try....you ruin your reputation but you still get to keep all of the tainted money.

For the record, MLB Network reported Gonzalez purchased stuff that was not on the banned list.

A-rod is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Braun is saying he used him as a consultant after he failed his test.

"During the course of preparing for my successful appeal last year, my attorneys, who were previously familiar with Tony Bosch, used him as a consultant," Braun said in his statement. "More specifically, he answered questions about T/E ratio and possibilities of tampering with samples."

That should be very easy to prove IF he's telling the truth.

Looks like Braun may have been doing more than research. I'm just shocked (sarcasm). The link shows the hand written names and the dollar amounts.

MIAMI -- The list was written in April, in the hand of Biogenesis of America clinic founder Anthony Bosch. Among the names is the Milwaukee Brewers' Ryan Braun, and to the right of that name is a figure: $1,500.

That list, a source familiar with Bosch's operation told "Outside the Lines," indicates that those players received performance-enhancing drugs from Bosch and owed him money. The document, one of dozens obtained by "Outside the Lines," suggests a closer link to Bosch and the now-shuttered clinic he ran in Coral Gables, Fla., than Braun has acknowledged.

But a source familiar with the documents obtained by "Outside the Lines" said the list with Braun's name, which also includes New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez and Francisco Cervelli and Toronto's Melky Cabrera, was a list of players who received PEDs, and that there is "no other reason to be on that paper."

One of the documents shows plus signs next to the players' names, which are circled for players who paid their fees, a source said. Braun's $1,500 fee is marked as being unpaid. Braun's name appears on another list of player names, dollar amounts and dates but is not included in the listing; rather, his name is at the bottom of the page under a line with "Expenses" written on it.

MIAMI -- Five more professional baseball players have connections to a South Florida clinic at the heart of a widening doping scandal, according to documents obtained by "Outside the Lines."

The new players listed in documents from the Biogenesis of America clinic run by Anthony Bosch: San Diego Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera, 26, the reigning National League stolen base champion; Jordan Norberto, 26, a lefty reliever with the Oakland A's; Fernando Martinez, 24, a Houston Astros outfielder; Fautino De Los Santos, 27, a reliever claimed off waivers by the Padres, and Cesar Puello, 21, a top Mets outfield prospect.

Sources said the players, like those who have been named in previous Biogenesis documents, were on a list as having received performance-enhancing drugs, although the documents are not proof that the players either received or used PEDs.

According to two sources familiar with Bosch's operation, however, the Washington Nationals' Gio Gonzalez, previously identified as being named in Biogenesis documents, did not receive banned substances from Bosch or the clinic.

Both sources, speaking independently, identified Gonzalez as the only Bosch client named thus far who did not receive performance-enhancing drugs. A document obtained by "Outside the Lines" bolsters their case: On a computer printout of clients, Gonzalez, identified by the code name "Gladiator," is said to have received $1,000 worth of substances, but under "notes" are several substances not banned by Major League Baseball: "gluthetyn" (which a source said was a misspelling of glutathione), "IM [intramuscular] shots," and amino acids.

Glutathione is an anti-oxidant, and one source said the "IM shots" Gonzalez received were "MICs," a medically dubious but legal combination of methionine, inositol and choline, often used for weight loss.
