That is quite a gap between the first entry and the second one.

How does he account for what he was doing during that time?

Also damn, how did that movie 42 not win the academy award for best make up, making Harrison Ford look so much like Jackie Robinson?

I searched the forum looking for a previous thread on Jackie Robinson to add for
April 15th Jackie Robinson Day and found this.
Unfortunately, no one had added a post to the opening.

Jackie Robinson's lone appearance as a player at Briggs (Tiger) Stadium came in the 1951 All-Star Game, when he collected 2 hits, including an RBI on a squeeze bunt that scored the runner from third. Priceless pregame footage from
Flagstaff films.

Today on #JackieRobinsonDay, we salute Jake Wood, the first African-American player to come through the #Tigers minor league system and start. In 1957, he was assigned to then Erie Sailors, which was then a Class-D affiliate.

In the 1955 WS G1, Jackie stole home. Officially. There is much debate on whether he was safe or out. The HPU, Bill Summers, made the safe call, without moving an inch. But, this is moot, or should have been, since Yogi committed Catcher's Interference as he left his Catchers Box before he had possession of the ball and clearly interfered with the batter. This was not called. Had it been, it would have awarded Robinson home and the batter, Frank Kellert, first base. As it was, the outcome was the same anyway. The run counted, Kellert, singled, and he did not score anyway.

Had Yogi received the ball from the Catcher's Box and then made the tag, Robinson would have been easily safe.
