Each of Last 2 Times a Tiger Pitcher Won CY & MVP

Hope here is this is one of those "Good Things" that comes in three's.

The last three times the Tigers had the AL MVP, they won the World Series.

Hal Newhouser 1945 Tigers World Series Champions.
Denny McLain 1968 Tigers World Series Champions.
Guillermo Willie Hernandez 1984 Tigers World Series Champions.
Justin Verlander 2011....

Oh.

I see.

Greenberg was named MVP in 1935 when the Tigers won the Series.

Does that make it each of the last 4, or was there been a Tiger MVP between 1935 and 1945 without the Tigers winning the World Series that breaks that string?

Nevermind, I just double checked and saw that Greenberg also was named MVP in 1940, but the Tigers lost the World Series to the Reds.

A moment of silence for the 25th anniversary of Hank Greenberg's passing today in 1986.
Yes, Greenberg did win, and then they lost in 1940 to the reds and bucky walters. I think the premise/reason was for Tigers pitchers.
Cy Youngs, MVP's, or not, all I/we want is a Tigers World Series Champion.

Tiger MVPs:

Cobb-1911 (no postseason)
Mickey Cochrane-1934 (lost WS)
Greenberg-1935 (won WS)
Gehringer-1937 (no postseason)
Greenberg-1940 (lost WS)
Newhouser-1944 (no postseason)
Newhouser-1945 (won WS)
McLain-1968 (Won WS)
Hernandez-1984 (won WS)
Verlander-2011???? (for some reason, I keep seeing 2-time MVP Dustin Pedroia)
