hopefully we can avoid South American teams in this one.
 
That schedule looks like a 0-1-2 group if I ever saw one...With losses to Germany and Portugal and maybe a tie with Ghana.. Damn it I was hoping for a better draw..

Hopefully the draw will go better for 2018.

And if not, hopefully 2022.
 
Statistics Whiz Kid Nate Silver gave us a 39% chance to advance, only slightly worse than Portugal.

Germany is basically a shoe-in, and Ghana is a distant last place finish away.
