Superman
Star Wars
Back to the Future
Armageddon
Full Metal Jacket

Some of my favorites:

THE Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Godfather.
MISSION Impossible.
Star Wars.
PINK Panther.

More but it's a start.

What was Full Metal Jacket's theme song? I remember a lot of music from the movie, but that's not one of them.

to what's here I'd add:
- Patton
- a few of teh James Bond themes: Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better come to mind

- the Breakfast Club (Don't you forget about me)
- Mrs. Robinson (the Graduate)
- Ghostbusters

Favorite Original Music Scores

Local Hero (Mark Knopfler in a stunning debut)
Gladiator (Hans Zimmer has few peers)
Castaway (there's no music at all when he's marooned on the island)
Last of the Mohicans (Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones)
Godfather (Nino Rota)

They shot a couple of scenes in which Wilson sang, but they were famously left on the cutting room floor.

Reminds me of when my daughter and I went to see the Tigers-Giants on 7-3-11. There was a guy in the LF seats right at the Giants BP with a soccer ball that had a face painted on it with a big beard and he was screaming "WILLLLLLLSON! I'M SORRRRRRRY!" It got Wilson's attention as well as that of the Giants' BP. It was a funny moment that the Giants BP got a visible kick out of the stunt. So did those in proximity. We were sitting in the CF seats under Sparky's name.

To add to Mitch's near perfect list (seriously, good calls)

Indiana Jones
Braveheart
Platoon

The Crow: Original

Batman Returns (Siouxsie Sioux the IRL "Catwoman")

ODD Couple, I can't get the fk'n song out of my head. It's driving me batty.

Those are good ones..and to continue my near perfectness, the Lions will not win the next SB.

If you are going to include Platoon then include Elephant Man because they both use Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber.

I have to add MASH. Suicide is Painless is too good. Btw, written by the son of the director, Mike Altman who was only 14 at the time.

Robert Altman was guest professor at Michigan for a semester, winter semester 1984. He directed an opera, The Rakes Progress, and made a 45 minute short one actor film about Nixon's final days in the White House shot at that women's only dorm, I forget the name but it's nickname was The Virgin Vault.

My opinion, any true Michigan man should have gotten laid there at least once as an undergrad.

Martha Cook, I think is the name of it.

There were two "Virgin Vaults." Barbour and Newberry. Next to each other on Maynard St.

What was Martha Cook when you were there then?

that place was extreme.

I had to go to a meeting for a group project once in that dorm. All of us guys in the group had to check in, tell them who we were meeting with, and then be escorted to the meeting location.

there were some pretty butch looking women around too.

It was surreal... a second earlier I was walking along South U., and then it was like I stepped into Angry Womyn Land.

Cook was old school. But the women were among the best-looking in the dorm system. And heterosexual.

The movie "Tender Mercies" starring Robert Duvall, featured the song
Over You
(1982)
Written by Austin Roberts & Bobby Hart
Sung by Betty Buckley

Robet Duvall sang many of the songs in the movie and wrote a couple of them. He is a very talented person.
