Is it just assumed he wasn't recruited by any D1 schools or has that been a topic of conversation before?

Illinois-Chicago was the only other D1 school to offer at the time he chose Stoney Brook last fall. I'm sure he would have picked up some more offers if he had waited, but he was pretty set on Stoney Brook from the get go. Lamar Chapman is a former Heights(where he went before going to Muskegon) coach and is an assistant at Stoney Brook. He's been recruiting him since his freshman year.

He had some MAC level D1 offers for football I think, but had already made up his mind to play basketball.
