Not keeping up so are they a 100 point team again?

They better be. Failure isn't in the Red Wings fans DNA.

They are definitely a 100 point team again, which would make 12 season in-a-row. Here is my breakdown of the Wings currently:
Forwards
-Pavel Datsyuk is arguably the best player in the league

-Zetterberg and Franzen are locked in for the rest of the decade and although both have had health concerns, both are lethal when on the ice.

-Draper retired, but we resigned Drew Miller and Patrick Eaves to cheap deals, and along with Abdelkader and Helm(who has been particularly impressive) we have a nasty set of grinders.

-We are trying to trade Jiri Hudler and his awful contract, but it will take time.

Defense
-Lidstrom is coming back for at least one more year(thank Jeebus). Rafalski retired and with his money we signed Ian White, who last played in San Jose. He is a solid puck moving defenseman that will not put up the numbers Raf did, but will be a stronger physical presence.

-Ericsson signed a new deal that makes him part of our immediate future. The big man is still coming along, but has upside.

-We also replaced Salei with Mike Commodore, who has a real mean streak in his game. Let's hope he can stay out of the box. He will be our 6th d-man and could be a scratch for our two young prospects, Jakub Kindl or Brendan Smith. I hope both get some ice time this year as they are definitely part of the future plans.

-Look for Kronwall and Stuart to become fixtures for our team this year. With Lids likely retiring next year, Kronner will be the new #1 man in town.

In Net
-Jimmy Howard is settled in and will be solid for us. He has a bright future.

-Ozzy retired and we brought Ty Conklin in again as our backup. His game is slipping, but he played well two seasons ago when he was in the same role.

We have $6mill in cap space currently and could be a big player come trade deadline time. Look for Kenny Holland to possibly make a splash if the right player becomes available.

Bottom Line is we should finish 1st in our division and have a good shot at the Cup. Teams to watch out for: Vancouver, San Jose and Nashville, with the Kings possibly on the rise.

Red Wings are always a playoff team. The team looks like it will be great again this year. I'm looking forward to this season and would love to see them go all the way.

I think they are going on 22 seasons in a row not 12.
