Ithaca ties Farmington Hills Harrison and Crystal Falls Forest Park with the most consecutive state finals appearances with six. But Ithaca's string of four consecutive state titles was broken in 2014 by Monroe St. Mary's Catholic Central. The team that beat Monroe St. Mary's this season? Clinton. Ithaca earned the trip with a 28-19 win over undefeated Traverse City St. Francis, while Clinton rolled over Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian, 42-20. Clinton was one of Ithaca's state championship victims, losing to the Yellowjackets in the 2013 state final, 41-22.
No way I do not take Ithaca. They want it back. Ithaca by 7.
Clinton Up 7-0 at halftime. Ithaca three and out after half and Clinton scores on its second play of the third. Ithaca down 13-0 and in real trouble.. Yellow Jackets respond after completing a 3rd and 10 they score a few plays later. PAT good 13-7 now..Shank punt Yellow Jackets in business inside Clinton Territory.. Yellow Jackets on fire 18 yard TD pass they lead now 14-13.. Man they woke up i guess.. Force a three and out and have the ball back. QB for Ithaca Jake Smith makes another great play although he looked out of bounds to me and scores a Td on a great run.. 21-13.. three TD's in about seven minutes here at the end of the third. Smith again for Ithaca with 7:47 minutes left 27-13 now. PAT missed. 4:59 left Clinton responds with a TD. 27-20 now.. Clinton gets ball back with zero timeouts and 1:47 left. at their own 30.
That is that.. Yellow Jackets get the title back.
