for valverde? it might be a reach but what do you think? if not how many and how many blown saves?

We've got, what, 60 games left? And he needs 19? That's a save in one in every three games the rest of the way. It's not going to happen.

Only 49 games left.

Valverde has saved 32 of the Tigers' 61 wins. 49 games to go. Could the Tigers go 36-13 in those games? Yes, but highly unlikely. It is more likely they go 27-22, and Valverde gets 45 saves (88 wins).

He has a better chance of tieing or breaking Jones team record of 42 in a season in 2000.

If Tigers make the World Series, and he doesn't blow a save, is it crazy that he could be in the CY Young voting?

His saves are nice, but the rest of his stats don't measure up to Cy Young consideration.

Maybe the Rolaids Relief Man Award, which he currently leads.

As long as he beats out jonathan papsmear.

He is ranked 7 in Cy Young predictor as of now.

Probably gets a 3rd/, or few 4th/5th place votes.

On that ESPN Cy Young predictor how do they figure out the VB? It says for leading your division, but JV and Valverde only get 4 (leading the divison), everyone else gets 6, even though LAA and NYY aren't.

VB: Victory Bonus is a 12-point bonus awarded for leading your team to the division championship (pro-rated based on the current standings).
some sites they have a glossary link at the top, this one if you scroll down to the bottom it is there.
