ALLEN PARK - Some observations from Saturday's Detroit Lions training camp practice:

--- During a team drill, rookie running back Mikel Leshoure made a very nice cut to escape trouble and hit open space. He showed some real acceleration to move away from the pack for a big gain. Leshoure continues to show good hands, catching almost everything thrown at him (Jahvid Best, meanwhile, is still dropping too many - his hands are better than that).

--- While the quarterbacks were getting chased a lot and under constant pressure, they still didn't have a great day throwing the ball. Stafford made some big throws but wasn't as consistently sharp as he's been. Hill has been a lot more accurate in other practices. Some of that is due to the young receivers he's playing with.

--- The Lions are off on Sunday and will return to the practice field on Monday. Detroit's first preseason game is 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Detroit's first regular season game is Sept. 11 at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

lol @ the QBs were getting chased a lot. Can't wait until some actual HOSTILE DL lines up against us.

What happened to all the flamers who thought we could wait till next year to upgrade our mash unit? Figuring out math equations to revise those win loss totals?
