with $1.5 T/yr for as far as the eyes can see, yet the Dems vote against a balanced budget amendment and can't seem to agree to any immediate cuts in the current budget. Folks, You can confiscate ALL the 1% incomes and not even come close to eliminating the deficit

You might want to learn more about the balanced budget amendment and why it's such a red herring. How about, "Just do your jobs" to all the politicians.

Since Clinton, both parties and presidents have been terrible spenders. To blame Obama and not Bush, or vice versa, is dishonest or ignorant.

The rate of spending under Obama is insane, the annual deficit is 3 times Bush's worst year. Republicans were not happy under Bush and stayed home in the 2006 elections. Big mistake, once Nancy took over it skyrocketed.
Clinton didnt have a balanced budget until the republicans won in 1994. Thanks to the leadership of Speaker Gingrich, we had 4 straight years of fiscal leadership.

The budget is dominated by defense, SS and Medicare/Medicaid. How do you not know this? The "spending" you are talking about is entitlements and defense/war machine. Do you honestly blame Obama solely for these expenditures?

The rise in defense spending alone in the 2000's, coupled with tax cuts without spending cuts is largely responsible. Add in the rising cost of health care.

To think Obama is responsible alone is dishonest or ignorant.

2 trillion of our debt is from the bush tax cuts. 2 trillion more is from bush's wars.
 
lol yet another thread tsmith is losing his mind in? Name one cut the republicans would like to enforce that would help eliminate a decent chunk of the debt? They wont touch military or soc security so you wont be able to propose an answer. Republicans complain about the deficit but a severe majority of them signed a piece of paper stating they will never speak of tax increases lmao. How the fuck do you think you pay bills?....bunch of fucking morons. So they dont want to pass anything to increase jobs and they dont want to increase taxes.....so in essense there will be no additional revenues to pay our bills. Then they wont agree to cut anything substantial to save us money. Once again they are the "do nothing" party....just blame obama and his black ass.

Heres a quote on why a debt deal wont get done by monday (republicans/obstructionists...whatever you want to call them)

How come Bush's deficits were less than $400 B with the same 2 full time wars(Obama only has Afghanistan) and same tax cuts?
You failed to mention the revenue generated from those tax cuts during the mid to late 2000's, revenues Obama would love to have,
Obama's budget is $900 B more than 2008.

reduce the budget to 3% over 2008 and see where were at. Just because Obama is spending $900 B more than 2008's budget doesnt mean were not paying enough taxes....NOPE...were spending way too much

I can name 3 departments to cut.....Our bills are handouts Obama has increased that we cant afford

In 2014 we can start adding more to the debt with Obamacare, interest on the debt is up 17%

SS pays for itself(currently), the interest on the debt is going to approach Defense spending.
I didnt say alone..people bought into his campaign rhetoric in 2008 that he would cut the deficit in half.....he has doubled Bush's 8 yr deficit in 2.5 yrs and now the debt is approaching our GDP...and yet the Dems cant cut 1 thing

LOL, whats he running on??? He has started his campaign, its called OWS, his plan is to make 1% the bogeyman, blame them for all his faults. Monster, he has nothing to run on. Matthews even acknowledges this. Whats his slogan..."It couldn't have been worse". "Unemployment would have been 17% instead of the 14% it really is."

His campaign is to demonize his opponent and he will have a lot of money to do so, it wont be much on his accomplishments.
