No spin necessary here. The Senate passed a Bill 89-10 to extend the payroll tax cut, they received assurance from the House GOP that it would pass there as well so they went home. Boehner then wouldn't let it come up for a vote, he knew it would pass. So now Boehner at the behest of a few Tea Baggers says no Bill unless you attach our oil pipeline to it. Wow.

My thoughts:

This is the extension of a tax cut for the middle class and working people as well as small business. How much do you want to bet that if this was a tax cut for the rich Boehner would have passed this faster than you could blink? But. it's just working people who will suffer so pork barrel projects are okay to try to force into it. A classic case of overplaying your hand and then not knowing when to fold.

Your taxes are going up not because of Obama, Senate Democrats, Senate Republicans, or House Democrats, but because of the House GOP. Even FOX News and the Wall Street Journal are having a tough time spinning that.

Right now the public blames Boehner and the House GOP 94% to 6% who blame Obama. Ouch.

Boehner is screwing Noot, Romney, Paul, and the other dingbats much worse then they could screw themselves.

Wouldn't surprise me if he got a few angry phone calls from all the GOP hopefuls, both presidential and congressional.

Thought Boehner was finally listening to the public a bit when he stated he wasnt happy witht he 2 month extension and wanted to see the full 12 mo extension voted in. Now, his douchebaggery is comming out and its making less sense....figures. Cause oil pipelines have so much to do with payroll tax cuts lol. Politicians are fucking idiots....all of them.

Obama just got a 6 point bounce this week...now polling at 49%.

Early Xmas present from the House Retards.

well at least everyone acknowledges the "contribution" is really a tax.......what the fuck is a 2 month tax for anyways? big deal $160 savings.......so these politicians can go on their Christmas break?...pass a bill and run home? that isn't the way the congress works....why are we defunding Social Security?...The only funding mechanism for the retirement fund and we are letting 160 million people not to continue with their "contributions"?....the senate hasn't passed a budget in over 1000 days.... their actions dont surprise me at all......how are we even running/funding the government without one?

why didn't the senate vote on the house bill that passed 12-13? straight up or down vote?

the House attached a pipeline amendment to the Bill which had ZERO chance of seeing a vote in the Senate...

Boehner knew it and still rammed it through...dude is beyond stupid....hence his 10% approval rating.

Boehner is too stubborn to save himself and his party. Just admit you made a mistake, let the temporary extension be voted on (It will pass easily) then come back after Christmas and negotiate as hard as you want to. He looks like an idiot, but Obama might come to the rescue and offer him an out because this is important to the American people that their taxes don't go up in January.

Even his own party is giving it to him. Mitch McConnell is livid, but offered him a compromise possibility, let the bill be voted on and passed, then they can have a committee after that so Boehner can save some face.

There you have it people, this is what Boehner and the Tea Party Republicans in the House are about, they could care less about you, $40 a check means nothing to them, they wipe their asses with $40 everyday and can't imagine how that little of money could be important to working people. This bill has unemployment extensions in it as well as stuff for seniors. It's a bill that gives the struggling classes some help.

Again, CAN ANYONE IMAGINE THE REPUBLICANS DOING THIS HAD THIS BEEN A TAX CUT FOR THE RICH? I think you know the answer to that. Boehner would have passed this with no strings attached faster than you could mumble something about the Job Creators.

I'd be glad for this fiasco if it didn't hurt regular Americans because at least it draws a clear line between the 2 parties for everyone to see.
