Look for the Lions to land T Kirk Chambers of the Bengals in the next few days. They have three injured OTs

big guy, will fit in well with our current unit. 32 years old and a seasoned vet. A serviceable OT

Kicking the tires...14 starts in 67 games he dressed for since 2004...journeyman at best.

probably cause of this....

Tony Ugoh - T - Lions

Lions OT Tony Ugoh was a no-show for Wednesday's training camp practice because he is considering retiring.
Ugoh is not expected to make Detroit's final roster after being outplayed by Corey Hilliard for the team's "swing tackle" role. Long on talent but an underachiever, Ugoh was the 42nd overall pick in the 2007 draft. The Colts didn't need long to determine he wasn't an answer, and gave up on him last September.

oh boy....lets hope Backus & Fox are ready to go week 1...Gosder, I have my doubts

This is what happens when you leave the oline to next year...and next year ...and next

Oline will be fine once everyone is healthy. Backus should be good by Week 1 which is all that matters, Fox is back in 2 weeks or so and Gosder made it three practices in a row. Plus we have Hilliard who did pretty well filling in for Goz last year. Week 1 Backus and Gosder should be starting with Hilliard and Fox backing them per the plan all along. Hilliard as the preseason left tackle isn't the best but not the worst option either. Hilliard was the backup left tackle last year. We are very thin now but won't be by Week 1.

Meh, they will all be fine week 1.
