34 NFL Teams?

So two divisions will have 5 teams then? It will either be a advantage or disadvantage depending how those teams shape up. More bitching and personally I hope LA never gets another team.

Just move the Jags, WTF.

Exactly, people wouldn't miss them here in Fl. You're either a Phins fan or a Bucs fan. The only reason some people used to root for them is because they used to draft Gator, Seminole and Hurricane players. Now it's just a place where their careers go to die. Sorry MJD

Great....so while teams like Jacksonville and TB are blacked out every week, we can see even more teams with small fan bases. Can't wait to see 2 more teams added to the sea of mediocrity that the NFL already is.

What we'll see...

- Players being poached from teams that already have little talent
- How many teams have a starting-caliber player starting at every position? It will be even less
- How many teams have viable back-ups when/if their starters go down? It will be even less
- National TV games will be cluttered with even more terrible match-ups since I heard the NFL is trying to get every team at least one national game

With all that laid out, I actually wouldn't mind seeing contraction.

Don't forget that the NFL also is probably going to add two more games to the regular season, extending the playoffs and eventual Superbowls to likely the 3rd Sunday in February. The late season, and the playoffs with potentially having dome-less teams hosting games in the NFC/AFC North in the absolute dead of 2/3rds of winter, albeit this winter being quite unusually mild and snowless for much of the Midwest and Northeast...so far, that is.

All in all, a recipe for much, much higher risks of injuries to key players on O, STs, and D....with teams probably scheming to use their backup QBs and second-third stringers far more often during the second-halves of later season games whose wins or less often losses appear to be almost a certainty, and/or the chances of clinching a playoff berth are already in the bag or are @ zero.

I would think 2 extra games would mean 2 less preseason games. So maybe the season starts earlier and SB gets played at the same date as usual.
