Thank God, some of these umps think they are actually part of the game..they have been so bad that something needed to happen. I'm glad MLB finally said enough is enough and took some action.

If only they would have done the same for Mr Joyce...
 
I heard a bit of a Chipper Jones interview on MLB on XM earlier and he was talking about what a joke many of the umps were and said he'd happily give his honest and unfiltered opinions on each next season after he retires. He said he's had numerous letters and calls from Selig and Torre on his criticism of umps too. LOL!

Except he didn't get suspended for his calls. And it's unlikely any umpire ever will be suspended for making/missing calls.

He got suspended because he decided argue back at a manager and used profanity, and it's wasn't the first time.

Nothing has changed, we're still going to see horrible calls happen.
