This is going to end up just like Ville Leino. Hudler looks pretty good playing next to elite players, and looks entirely forgettable on his own. If all they want is a shooter, then they got what they were looking for, but still overpaid for him. If they expect Hudler to be a strong top 6 wing that plays both ways, they are just going to be disappointed from the start.

But hey, more power to Hudler. He wasn't going to get that money here, and he parlayed a career year into a solid 4 year contract. He's 28, may not be the type that sticks around well into his 30s anyway, so he did well to get a good sized contract now.
