Detroit: 17-19

Cleveland: 23-16

Chicago: 22-14

Assuming my math is right....

I don't think Clev. or Chicago will get to 85 so I think 85 will be enough.

I don't think 85 wins will do it. 87 to 88

I think the Tigers have a shot at 90 wins if they can play consistently. I drank some Kool-Aid and predicted 94 or something like that....I expected more consistency from Porcello and Max. Coke and Penny pretty much have been what I thought they'd be. Verlander obviously exceeded expectations.

If the Tigers play .500 ball they will win the division comfortably.

89 wins will probably do it.

DET 21-15 .583
CLE 27-12 .692
CHW 26-10 .722

CLE and CHW would be hard pressed to win it at 89.

87 wins

DET 19-17 .528
CLE 25-14 .641
CHW 24-12 .667

DET 20 of 36 games against below .500 teams
CLE 22 of 39 games against below .500 teams
CHW 17 of 36 games against below .500 teams

No way they play .650 ball let alone .700 ball. Not sure either play. 500.

Make is 22-15. Tribe pulled it out of their ass today.

How about just go 20-14 the rest of the way and get to 90 Ws? :) I really would like to not just win this division by default lol...

agreed. I'd love to go into the playoffs HOT.

Just because I have nothing better to do...

Tigers magic number is 30

Games left
Detroit 34
Cleveland 36
Chicago 35
Minnesota 34
KC 33

95 wins
Detroit 25-9
Cleveland 32-4
Chicago 32-3
Minnesota not possible
KC not possible

90 wins
Detroit 20-14
Cleveland 27-9
Chicago 27-8
Minnesota not possible
KC not possible

85 wins
Detroit 15-19
Cleveland 22-14
Chicago 22-13
Minnesota 30-4
KC 32-1

81 wins (.500)
Detroit 11-23
Cleveland 18-18
Chicago 18-17
Minnesota 26-8
KC 28-5

Earliest possible elimination dates (assumes Detroit wins all their games and said opponent loses all their games to that date)
KC (E#: 17) - Thursday, September 1
Minnesota (E#: 20) - Saturday, September 3
Chicago (E#: 29) - Wednesday, September 7
Cleveland (E#: 30) - Thursday, September 8

Earliest possible dates Detroit could be eliminated (assumes Detroit loses all their games and said opponent wins all their games to that date)
By KC - Tuesday, September 20
By Minnesota - Tuesday, September 20
By Chicago - Wednesday, September 14
By Cleveland - Thursday, September 15

Detroit games left
against Cleveland - 6
against Chicago - 6
against Minnesota - 6
against KC - 6

If Cleveland wins all their games except against Detroit (93-69)
Detroit has to go 18-10 against non-Cleveland opponents to eliminate Cleveland

If Cleveland wins all their games against Detroit
Detroit can only tie if both them and Cleveland win out

If Chicago wins all their games except against Detroit (92-70)
Detroit has to go 17-11 against non-Chicago opponents to eliminate Chicago

If Chicago wins all their games against Detroit
Detroit can only tie if both them and Chicago win out

If Minnesota wins all their games except against Detroit (83-79)
Detroit has to go 8-20 against non-Minnesota opponents to eliminate Minnesota

If Minnesota wins all their games against Detroit
Detroit has to go 20-8 against non-Minnesota opponents to eliminate Minnesota

If KC wins all their games except against Detroit (80-82)
Detroit has to go 5-23 against non-KC opponents to eliminate KC

If KC wins all their games against Detroit
Detroit has to go 17-11 against non-KC opponents to eliminate KC

Says Mr. Almost1500posts

I was here before you :)

But truth be known, I work from home and things are finally setup to where I work about 10-15 hours a week and when the wife and kids are gone I need something to do while I sit out on my deck.

:)

And I have been slowing down :)
