YES The Yankees have acquired Ichiro for DJ Mitchell and Danny Fahrquar, a source said. Yanks also get cash in deal

Ichiro Suzuki: .642 OPS. Among those 35 AL players whose primary position is OF (250+ PA), that ranks 2nd-worst (Coco Crisp, .640).
Newest Yankees OF Ichiro Suzuki is 2nd among RF with 12 Defensive Runs Saved (fieldingbible).

I'm kind of surprised Ichiro waived his no-trade clause.

Scary thing is that makes me think maybe Felix is available too.

If Felix was available, I would have traded both Turner and Nick C. and others for him.

I guess he's going be a home run hitter playing at Spanky Stadium.

How does Ichiro fit into that lineup? And where to play him on the field?

i think the yanks just traded for Ichiro's name attached to the husk of a once great player. good for us, bad for them.

Cram Session for July 24.

From a baseball standpoint, the Yankees picking up Ichiro for a couple back end bullpen arms is about as low-impact as you can get. But from a cultural standpoint, it?s huge. It suggests a fundamental shift in the Mariners themselves. Since 2001, the Mariners have been Ichiro?s team, not just in the literal sense that he played for them, but also in the sense that they were synonymous with one another.
It was a jarring sight to see Ichiro wearing the Yankee grays. Ichiro is not the first superstar to finish playing out the string in a weird looking uniform, however.
Here are 10 of baseball?s greatest stars, and the uniforms in which they ended their careers.

I am going to guess them first, or name some that are not on the list:

Ruth: Boston Braves
Cobb: Phila A's
Mays: Mets
Aaron: Brewers

F. Robinson: Indians (And Boog Powell looked really bad in that all-red Indians' uni, too)
Dizzy Dean: Cubs
Juan Marichal: Dodgers
Wade Boggs: Tampa Bay
Greg Maddux: Dodgers
Tom Seaver: Red Sox
