Today, in a letter to Apple's Board of Directors and to the general public, Steve Jobs announced that he would be resigning from his post as Apple's CEO.
In the letter, Jobs states that he is stepping down due to his inability to fulfill the duties and expectations required for the position, likely due to his long-term illness.
Jobs stated that he would like to continue to serve as Chairman of the Board, director, and an Apple employee. He also went on to publically recommend that acting CEO, Tim Cook, take on in the role fulltime.
