His comments go to show the kind of funk the NHL is in...I'm not real sure where the league goes from here but my guess is contraction at some point if they can't regain a decent TV contract again.

They underestimated the importance of the solid contracts they had in place in driving their sport in the underdeveloped markets...Bettman deserves credit for where hockey got but he hasn't had a good last 8 years or so to say the least.
