They're going to set up on campus at Ingalls Mall.......

The Michigan athletic department announced today that Ingalls Mall will be the location of ESPN's College GameDay when it sets up for the U-M/Notre Dame game on Sept. 10.

The "mall" is an outdoor open area located between Burton Tower and the Michigan League on U-M's Central Campus.

"We are excited that ESPN will bring their award-winning show to Ann Arbor and our campus," U-M athletic director Dave Brandon said in a released statement. "This is a great way to showcase the University of Michigan to the nation. It will be a memorable day and night in Ann Arbor and to have GameDay here to chronicle the event will be tremendous."

The broadcast, featuring former U-M star Desmond Howard as an analyst, along with Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and host Chris Fowler, will begin at 9 a.m. and run until noon on ESPN. Reporter Erin Andrews also will contribute reports.

Given the late gametime (8 p.m.) and the fact that the parking lots near the stadium won't even open until noon, there is likely to be far more foot traffic near Ingalls Mall during the GameDay broadcast than near Michigan Stadium.

The type of location was requested by ESPN, which is attempting to place the GameDay set in more campus-style environment, U-M spokesman Dave Ablauf said.

In previous visits to Ann Arbor, the GameDay set has been constructed outside the stadium.

will be watching it from a couch in A2 shortly before heading to the Golf Course!

i also think with that game it helps move crowds away from stadium early in the day
