They missed that Tigers radio color man, and '68 WS winner Jim Price wore number 12.
He mentions it all the time as a running joke between him and Kaline. He used to joke with Kaline that his (Price) jersey number had twice as many hits in it as Kaline's 6. When Andy Dirks came up and took number 12, Al Kaline told him, Jim Price left plenty of hits in that jersey for you.
