What a weird start to a MICHIGAN football season. Fumble on the first play of the first game ? a Home Night Game, no less ? a list of surprise injuries including DPJ and now possibly Charbonnet and coming off a BYE WEEK in just Week 3...?! Are you kidding me?? And now, on to Wisconsin?!

Goodness gracious.

What appeared to be a tough road game during the summer/pre-season now appears even tougher after the sloppy win over MTSU and exasperating OT win vs ARMY ? perhaps the odd, early BYE Week came at precisely the right time. Thankfully the Wolverines return John Runyan to the starting OL, hopefully Patterson?s oblique is healed (as well as his confidence) and the new offense starts to finally click.

Never pulling in the recruiting talent of fellow BigTen programs like osu, MICHIGAN and psu, the Badgers are nothing if not consistent and often ?doing more with less? when it comes to the stars. Getting a thumping in Ann Arbor last year and always tough in Camp Randall, Wisky enters the game as the favorite at #13 Wisconsin -3 with an Over/Under of 42.5 total points. And although favored and at home and also coming off a BYE week, the #11 ranked Wolverines will be the Badgers? toughest team so far and ?.Grrrr, BigTen football and Jump Around!

All-time the series isn?t even close, but that?s often the case with a team playing in its 140th season and MICHIGAN leads (51-15-1) (almost a palindrome!). More appropriately, over the last 10 games, the teams are dead even at (5-5) with the home team typically taking the win. While the last win in Madison was way back in 2001, the teams haven?t played as often recently due to the expanded BigTen and unbalanced schedule. One last statistic?. when both teams are ranked in the Top 15, MICHIGAN is (5-0)!

So, post your score prediction with some supportive analysis if you wish, but leave the woofing and barking for other threads.

Second game in a row I'll be picking us to lose. Hold on to your butts, this one could hurt.

Michigan 6
Wisconsin 45

I've seen nothing from this team to make me think they deserve a top 25 spot. No leadership, little sustained emotion, injuries, etc. Prove me wrong Blue, because this team looks like a 5 or 6 loss team. Please let me be wrong.

I was just telling my step dad that this feels like that Penn State game a couple years ago.

On the road vs a ranked opponent....this is the type of game Michigan loses all too often. I think the MSU game last year is the one time since Carr left we've won a game like that. Wisconsin looking for payback. Just doesn't seem like a recipe for a positive outcome. Hoping for different, but from everything we've observed so far gotta go with:

Wisconsin 27
Michigan 17

Either gonna be a Wiscy blowout, or a close game. I'm gonna go with a close game. Michigan 24, Wiscy 21

Wisconsin starts a 5'10" 185 lb CB who I'm sure will end up on Nico. Our offense will find a way to ignore the fact that Nico has six inches and 37 lbs on this guy and we'll only target him 3-4 times and only if he's wide open. GETTING THE BALL TO OUR PLAYMAKERS! It's pretty awesome that MGoBlog reviewed Nico's tape and found that we have thrown exactly zero jump balls to him in his career. He had a couple fades against OSU, which were TDs (shocking!), but no true jump balls. Sorry to keep harping on this, but it's utterly ridiculous that we can't involve our best WR more.

I am hoping our defense plays one hell of a game and keeps us in this. I can't imagine Chryst will be dumb enough to only give Taylor the ball 17 times against us this year and have Coan throwing on 3rd and short like he did with Hornibrook last year. Taylor was killing us at 6 YPC, so Chryst really bailed out our D. It would be great if he was that dumb again, but I don't see it happening.

Michigan - 20
Wisconsin - 24

I am cautiously optimistic, like I get sometimes when nobody gives us a chance.

But I'm still going to go with...

Michigan......20
Wisconsin....31

I'll not pick M to lose in these prediction threads.

Michigan 30, Wisconsin 25. M contains, but does not stop Taylor, and Shea actually uses the option part of the RPO.

Wisc 24

Taylor goes off for 212 total yards and 3 tds.

21-7 UM

(In realistic fashion though, UW wins easily)

hey, you can't make contradictory predictions like that!

then we get into disputes about who won the prediction thread, like after the Army game.

If we do lose, this is the game to lose. With a little luck and getting better, this team can rebound in a big way and get revenge on Wisconsin in the B10 Championship. This loss would be negated and we would make the playoff easily with our schedule. With all that said, the team needs to get healthy and gel as a unit. I pray this team can get healthy and that Shea's decision making can be where it needs to be. Sorry for the woofing, but if we lose in a close game like 35-28 and had shit loads of offensive yards, I would feel good going forward and that this team will eventually click.

GO BLUE!!!!!!
