Congrats to Rumseyhouse for his prediction in the Rutgers game thread, with a nod to Tinsel and myself for having a decent take on the game, although nobody really nailed it - that game in Madison sent us fans reeling.

Well on to Homecoming vs Iowa.....

Because I am on the road and in an office in La Jolla and won?t have much free time until I get back late tomorrow, this post will be brief. Feel free to add through the thread.

Vegas liked MICHIGAN when the line for the game opened at UM -7. That line has moved pretty significantly to M -3.5 meaning a lot of folks like the Hawkeyes in a road upset. The Over/Under is at 47 Total Points which in the context of the history of the B10 rivalry seems pretty spot on.

So go ahead and post your predictions with some supportive analysis if you wish, but leave the woofing and barking for other threads.

Iowa is the worst undefeated team in the top 25. UM will beat easily beat them. UM -3.5 might be the lock of the weekend. Probably the under as well.

UM 27
Iowa 10

Iowa?s played squat. This is its initial test. It barely beat ISU. Michigan rolls 31-9.

If the game were at Kinnick or if Tim Dwight shows up on Saturday I’d change my prediction but the game is (finally) in A2 after 7yrs and we don’t stoop to pink locker rooms.

MICHIGAN - 31
Iowa - 13

This will be the test of whether this team has really found itself. I am hoping for a blowout, but I agree with Champ, gonna be close. Michigan 31 Iowa 28.

I have no idea what to expect but going to say 20-17 michigan. I'm still not confident in their ability to score in the red zone but I can easily see nico or DPJ breaking some big plays.

after reading the Freep preview, I'm even more concerned... if this is "rock-paper-scissors" they're rock and we're scissors.

Also, their starting QB hasn't thrown a pick yet, and they're 13th in national turnover margin, at +1.25. we are... we are... 109th (-1).

Hoping the team comes out playing with fire after being embarrassed in their last game of this magnitude. Michigan has done far better at home in matchups like this, and can't afford to drop another early big ten game.

Michigan 30
Iowa 23

I beat Rumsey's total difference by 7 points last week - I'm sure it was just an oversight or is 2nd place the new 1st place?

Iowa and the over

uofm 24
Iowa 27

Only M fans are eligible to win this coveted contest.

Michigan beats Rutgers 52 - 0
Iowa "only" beats Rutgers 30 - 0
Iowa beat MTSU 48 - 3
Michigan "only" beats MTSU 40 - 21

This one feels like its going to be a old-school BigTen low scoring affair

Iowa 17

Of Michigan? and Michigan State? A person, nor a leaf, can be all blue and all green at the same time.

Can't say "Go Breen, Go Waize."

I'm a fan of both but not in equal portions. When they're not playing MSU, I cheer for uofm. My personal ranking is school first, then state, then with a couple exceptions, conference. I really can't stand Wisconsin or the expansion teams.

Ok. I don?t make the rules.

Going to be a really tough one. Iowa plays a very solid Cover 2 defense. Shea struggles big time when it comes to quickly reading zone D. Four verts is a great way to bust their D with our WRs, but who knows if we'll take advantage.

Iowa has some solid backs who can get an extra few yards after contact if their o-line opens up some room. LBs are going to have to be sound to make up for the lack of us having a serviceable DT against the run. Play action becomes a concern if they're having to sell out to stop the run.

Those are my worry areas. Overcome the adversity and get a W on my wife's bday.

Michigan - 23
Iowa - 21
