Game 16 Bears @ Lions Thread

Well, now that our boys have done what we thought they'd do, let's put this in a better light: I mentioned we would fall from a 4th slot to perhaps 11th. Someone said that's no big deal. Ah, I disagree. See, now we should be drafting 4th, then 36th, 68th and so forth. IOW, some half dozen +...

Game 16 Bears @ Lions Thread

Wow. Just wow. How can anyone not pull for a loss today? What I heard was that the Lions can fall from 4th to 11th or something with a win. Ergo, the hell with the Bears...so we don't knock them out. Big deal. They're not going anywhere anyway. Thing about Schwartz is...I really liked...

    Fairley placed on injured reserve

Might want to consider putting half the team on IR. Fairley had some problems this past year off the field (that's much more problematic than injuries in the sense that some recover and never have the same injury problems--i.e., Stafford--than they did before), but if he gets over those...

Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Big Happy Birthday #78 to Al Kaline & yes: the Al Kaline Award for AL OF fielding would be most appropriate.

Rob Parker calls RGIII a... "cornball brother"?

Good question Tony. Haven't heard a sound. RGIII is a quality person. The 'writer'/smuck is not. But you're right. From Madonna to Lohan, from Calypso Louie Farrakhan to 'shock jocks' we seem to be somehow drawn to idiocy. In a word, idiocy "works".

    Nick Saban to the Lions

While I see your point, isn't going to happen. Problem is, Mayhew is getting all kinds of points for drafting guys any of us would have drafted: Megatron, Suh, Stafford, Leshoure, Delmas, Reiff, Pettigrew, Fairley. How about we look at some of the others: Titus Young, not drafting a quality...

    A Case for Keeping Porcello

Sorry, I'm also a Lions and Pistons fan and what you note hasn't always held: Billups for Iverson, etc., etc.

    A Case for Keeping Porcello

Granted all that is true, Mitch, and certainly the Freep agrees with you: http://www.freep.com/article/20121218/COL38/312180131/?odyssey=tab|mostpopular|text|FRONTPAGE ...but, as was noted in the article, someone else has to make a real good offer, else DD may well keep Rick. If you read the...

    A Case for Keeping Porcello

Oh gosh yes, KC, stay away from Atlanta. Say to say it, but when J J started to look like Smoltz II I began to panic. Don't wish injuries on anyone at all, but seeing as he was on the DL a good portion of the past couple years; let's just say I'm not all bent out of shape seeing the Braves...

    A Case for Keeping Porcello

For some reason I feel trading Peralta to some NL club that needs a 3rd baseman makes more sense than ditching Porcello. I like Jhonny but if the guy doesn't hit for decent avg and some pop (meaning: over 20 HRs), he's essentially useless. Yes, his arm is accurate, he's a silent good guy type...

    A Case for Keeping Porcello

I'd think long and hard on trading him. Sure, if we could get a solid SS I'd be all in. Not likely to happen. There are several factors we should consider before sending Ricky Ticky Tack Porcello off to Pittsburgh, Texas or wherever... 1) 23 is a magic number here. If he were, say, 27 or...

Anonymous GM returns to call Dominic Raiola a 'complete fraud'

Yeah, but it said "GM" and everyone knows no one is foolish enough to hire a moron like Millen as your GM. Right??????......

    Retractable roofs

I agree with the retractable roofs. Here in AZ the D Backs games are always pleasant. Often, they will open the roof if/when the weather gets cooler. No way should Detroit, ChiTown, Minnesota or Cleveland have open air fields. Too much rain, too many very cold nights.

    Reddick thought that was immature.

Goofy looking bastard, really. I mean, he looks like he last washed his hair in April and just flew in from Oakland, where he'd been camping with the Occupy crowd.
