Leaving early Saturday for Foxwoods and the whole card at Churchill Downs.

I'll wager Flowery Hats to win, Stuffed Shirt to place, and Inebriated to show.

I'm gonna hedge my bet and box another trifecta on three different horses than my first post; I'm gonna go with Socialism, The 1% and The 99% - again, boxed trifecta, no particular order.

Getting a bit more nervous as post time approaches....perhaps I was a bit hasty in picking Flowery Hats to win, and am now leaning heavily toward Milliners to pass the pack on the outside, as they round the final turn, and to win the coveted Flowery Horseshoe of Victory by a neck.

In reality I usually root for the winner of the Santa Anita Derby to win; I don't think I've ever bet on the race.

Justify is the favorite and was this year's Santa Anita winner.

I never bet much, even in a casino, however there is one thing that I can post for certain, and that is Milliners never lost on Derby Week.

I used to enjoy reading the clever and strange names that owners callled their racing horses back in the newspapers' heydays, when local races were listed in the sports section. Now its the handles people come up with for themselves online and social media like Twitter. Of course the first to do so, were Native Americans after being translated to English.

Muddy track...could be a longshot KD winner.

Wow...3" of rain @ Churchill Downs?

Better outfit the steeds with galoshes.

And the jockeys with goggle-wipers.

Justify looks like he has a good chance to win the Triple Crown. It looks like he has gas at the end that a whole lot of winners of the derby and the Preakness don't have in the longer Belmont.

Instilled Regard, an 85-1 longshot finished 4th, Promises Fulfilled @ 47-1 fell off the pace after leading early.

I bet "any horse" to win, and it paid out at 2-1.

I think I found a way to make free money.
