Angels News: Halos Acquiring Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez From White Sox in Blockbuster Trade.

The Angels are all in.

The Los Angeles Angels are clearly all in on winning this season. Just a few hours after it was announced that the team was not trading Shohei Ohtani, they went big, trading for the top starting pitcher on the market ? Lucas Giolito ? and one of the top relievers ? Reynaldo Lopez ? from the White Sox. ESPN's Jeff Passan reported on the deal, including what the Angels are giving up ? top prospects Edgar Quero and Ky Bush.

We?ll see.

Artie Moreno should be able to hold his own in any dick measuring/pissing contest against any other MLB owner.

One thing all the talking heads haven?t seemed to realize - the media aversive Ohtani has thrived in possibly a perfect coccoon - a small market that is crouched in a major market, not unentirely like Schroedenger?s cat?

There was a reason Ohtani came to Anaheim - he could have gone anywhere.

I won?t be surprised if he stays.

The Angels will have to sign Othani for 150 Trillion Dollars a season to keep him. And there are only a handful of Angels' players with multi-year deals. So, I suppose that LAA has nothing to lose by keeping him, renting players, and selling prospects.

Ironically, though, with all the layers of playoffs to circumvent, the buy/sell/hold game is riskier than ever.
