Chargers released G Trai Turner.
This was always in the cards since Los Angeles has struggled to find any suitors for the 27-year-old ahead of free agency. Turner was initially acquired from the Panthers in exchange for OT Russell Okung last offseason but made only nine appearances throughout the year due to injury. The move creates $11.5 million in cap space for the Chargers.

I had no idea he was still this young. Could be a nice option on a 1 year deal for 5-7mil. Plus also add a voidable year to push some of the cap hit into next year. Obviously he played for Anthony Lynn last year. Either way the market is expected to be flooded with veteran guards so now is a good time to find one cheap. He has been to 5 Pro Bowls and would not affect the compensatory picks. Sign him for one year and if he plays well he is young enough to re sign long term. If not and he hits free agency then maybe he brings back a comp pick in 2023. Either way it would solidify this Oline and potentially make this running game dangerous. Vatai Crosby and Nelson can battle it out for RT then.
