Well, we?re in the dog days for Michigan sports, so a little food for thought.

I?ve always found it a little intriguing how the pathways that two cultural icons, Madonna?s and Derek Jeter?s, to what they would become both led to New York, either through or around Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan, significantly influenced by two fairly anonymous men.

Is Derek Jeter a cultural icon?

Madonna is. But I am sure there are more people that know Madonna but not Jeter. I don't think there's anyone that knows Jeter but not Madonna though.

I guess my uncle was at Michigan the same time she was, and said she worked at Stucchis. He still uses "Madonna served me ice cream in college" as a conversation starter.

I?m glad you asked, because I decided to double check it, I asked my wife and I did a search engine search and a number of things that refer to him as an icon came up, so yes I think he is viewed that way. My wife said he is also. She knows this kind of shit
