Campbell loves his ex players. It seems to work for him. Liked Dre as a CB. Gave up some big plays......made some as well. Hope he brings some of the latter to our group of young guys.

I met him years ago, probably 2006 at the Hoop Tee Classic golf outing in North Carolina (formerly the Michael Jordan Foundation golf outing). Dre Bly was one of a handful of football players there - was mostly former and some current NBA players. A few of us regular people were talking to Dre Bly and Eddie George started giving him shit, asked him where he played college ball then said "they have a football team at North Carolina?"

Dre should have asked him about his career 3.6 YPC. That's WELL BELOW league average. Eddie George was a slightly above average NFL player.....just got a shit ton of carries.

If he didn't have the all that media hype from BEFORE he was drafted......he wouldn't have been considered a good player.

I agree that George wasn't a great NFL player but he was pretty good. 4x pro bowler and 1x all pro in his first 5 seasons averaging 1,375 rushing yards per year and 1,665 yards from scrimmage per year. To put that in perspective, only 4 RBs had more than 1665 yards from scrimmage this year, and 3 of them played in 17 games.
