The reason why Spencer Turnbull didn't report to Toledo until 6 days after being demoted. Definitely not service time manipulation by the Tigers but it appears somewhat calculated on Turnbull's part given his lengthy disappearance & now new status.

The odds that Spencer?s Turnbull never throws another pitch for the Detroit Tigers at 70%..before you allow that to upset you this will be DL stint number at least 4 maybe 5 along with a 12-29 career record after 5 years ..best of luck to him.
By the time Spencer Turnbull is supposedly healthy enough to return Matt Manning will be healthy and Tarik Skubal will be close to going on a rehab assignment.
