Seems the game may have started.

The delay may have been a result of a technical/mechanical problem with the pitch clock.

Oh well.

These things are gonna happen going forward.

The Game Rained out.
The makeup game is July 24th at Comerica.

Sunday's game was postponed after approximately five hours of waiting. It will be made up on July 24 on a previously scheduled off day between series at Comerica Park against the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Angels.

Apparently the Twiterverse is expressing its dissatisfaction with the way that the Tigers handled the "rain" delay.

Was in the Detroit area all day yesterday there were plenty of windows where it wasn't raining that much I still don't understand why they won't start games in a sprinkle. they could have started in a sprinkle at various points and it likely would have never picked up again hard enough to delay again. I just don't understand that. will play in rain but not start a game in rain even if just a sprinkle, it's dumb.

Only after the game commences, which is determined when the Umpire-in-Chief takes possession of the Home team's lineup card.

today's game was cancelled 270 minutes before game time..
