Random Dodgers Player (Not so random; he was the pitcher I faced in my last PA in HS, singled to LF and was stranded on second in a loss to Clarkston in the regionals.)

Sawyer Gipson-Long commands attention after two fine starts.
Another excellent outing over the weekend has fans wondering if the Tigers have a future rotation piece in the 25-year-old right-hander.

Baddoo missed the memo and Training day on the safety Squeeze and squeeze play. He looked like he had zero clue what to do with Short bunting and he was on third base with no outs as the tigers continue the season long futilely with runners on 1st and 3rd and no outs. We have to be one of worst teams in mlb in this spot. We just can?t get runners home. After Baddoo bungling base running Meadows almost hits the ball out to right field.

Tigers first and third no outs end up with nothing.

Miggy passes Beltre for 16th in mlb in hits. I think he is at 3166 now.

Bo slow to cover first let?s a leadoff hit.

He looked out to me. He was so out don?t care how close it was.

Bo has a easy double play and throws ball high to second. Least he got the lead runner.

Lange gives up the steal then the bloop double game tied 2-2
Not sure why Vierling was that far off the line. Then a walk.

I would have left Foley in.

Tigers can?t get a low strike called this ump like dodger pitchers.

Lange?s 9th

Single
Out

Single Tigers lose another game they have zero business losing 3-2

Still can?t get a close strike by this ump.

WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY.
Totally Tigers

Detroit Tigers? PoBO Scott Harris is currently remaking the roster. Auditioning players and moving them around to determine their maximum value to the team.

Some players will be leaving given expiring contracts. Others will be non-tendered.

But Harris also needs to determine which players are most likely to be trade-bait. And we know that the team will need a lot of new players over the next couple years at least.

It is unrealistic that all the teams? needs will be satisfied via free agent signings. Or that all the answers exist in the farm system.

There will have to be trades done in order to fill the necessary holes.

And if the Tigers want to find players who are solid and capable, they will need to give up players of value.

The better the player, the better the trade they receive in return. Potentially, multiple players.

This means that Detroit will have to consider trading away some young promising talent. It could be one of their top draft picks who is currently in Detroit, a young starting pitcher or one of their top farm system prospects.

What would you do if you were the GM? Would you risk trading away solid talent in order to get better?

These are the questions to ask yourself and others as we ponder just how much better the Tigers need to be. Let?s kick start some good discussion threads here ? and to take with you wherever you go during the rest of the week.

Would you trade solid talent away in order to improve the Tigers' performance?

1. Yes.

2. No.

Austin Meadows comes to mind.

I guess Venezuelan Dodger pitcher Graterol got to pitch in front of his mother last night, whose travel to the US has been interrupted by red tape.

So there?s that.
