Following yesterdays game RHP Drew Carlton was optioned to Triple A Toledo. Prior to Thursdays game the Tigers will recall RHP Elvin Rodriguez, who will start the series opener in Cleveland.

Eight Tigers relievers have thrown at least 27 innings this season.

All 8 of them have an ERA below 3.60.

All 8 of them have a FIP below 3.70.

Tyler Alexander as a relief pitcher this season:
17 IP
1.06 ERA
2.52 FIP
8 K
2 BB
.230 wOBA
.242 average
1.00 WHIP

It?s ALMOST like he shouldn?t EVER EVER EVER be starting games. A guy that?s PERFECT in middle relief and this organization isn?t smart enough to understand that.

Jos? Cisnero finally healthy, gives Detroit Tigers another weapon; 'I feel like I'm home'.

DET @ CLE
-Tigers 26.7% K clip vs McKenzie
-Since 2020, 10.7 K/9 at home
-6+ Ks in 5 of last 8
-8 Ks vs Tigers on May 29th

Remember when the Tigers were over .500 after Opening Day? That lasted for 23 hours and 41 minutes. It's been 6 long years since Detroit was over .500 on July 14.

Rodriguez turns early jam into solid outing.
After two blowout losses, righty flips the script and works out of trouble.

Guardians 4 - Tigers 0: Triston McKenzie owns Detroit once again.
This was a game meant for sleeping through, as the Tigers barely showed up, striking out 12 times against the young right-hander.

FIVE FOR FRIDAY.
Totally Tigers

Several weeks ago, we each compiled a list of the top 5 players we would keep on the roster. These were pretty much the ?slam dunks? who would help the rebuild move forward.

Yesterday, we reviewed the candidates for each defensive position and the likelihood that they would fill the required needs for next year?s team.

Today, we?re going to flip the script and ask readers to select those players on the cusp they would like to see on the roster next year. Players they feel can contribute, need more time to develop or have yet to show their potential.

There are 12 players on this list. You can pick a maximum of 5. How many you pick will also make a statement about how well or poorly you believe this rebuild is going.

For easier comparison between everyone?s answers, please use a single column format in listing your candidates. Extra credit if you alphabetize them.

I think they 100% want him to be a reliver. Unfortunately, they are forced to have him start because of injury and that P.O.S. Rodriguez is choosing not to pitch.
