Tigers vs. astros Game 141 September 12, 2022

All I have is gamecast and watching Baez in the 9th inning swing at three pitches in the dirt fouling one off, and then called out on a strike makes me mad that we had dip shit to sign him for 6 years, add in he leads the Majors in errors all this for 140 million. what a f'n waste.

Tigers are shut out for the 21st time, lose 7 - 0.

Astros 7 - Tigers 0: Complete game shut out for Framber Valdez.
Despite plenty of hard contact, the Kitties were thrown out trying to score twice, and lined the ball into Astros? gloves all game long.

Another shutout

Lately, this is the best part of the Tigers season, when football starts and there are other sporting events to watch.

For me, the best part of the Tigers is I live in Los Angeles and have the Dodgers to fall back on.

And yes, before somebody starts to pray that my next breath will be my last and lays a curse on everyone in my family or my household, I DID root for the Tigers all three games they played here early this season - they won one, probably would have lost that if not for my rooting, and also remember Clayton Kershaw NEVER pitched for any Detroit team before becoming a Dodger.

Most shutouts for an American League offense since the advent of the DH:
2022 Detroit Tigers - 21
1976 Chicago White Sox - 21
1973 New York Yankees - 21
1981 Toronto Blue Jays - 20
1975 Detroit Tigers - 20

Javier Baez walks: 24
Javier Baez errors: 23
Shutout losses for Detroit: 21
We're headed for a photo finish...who says exciting things don't happen in Detroit during the month of September.

Torkelson hit the ball 105.5 mph, 106.1, 107.1, and 105.4 against Valdez and got nothing to show for it tonight. Still looking much improved.
In 2022 there have only been 10 times that a player has hit 4 balls at 105+ MPH in the same game.
He's the only one who was hitless, was actually the only one who didn't get 2+ hits.
He's also the only one to do it in 4 PA, all others had 5 or 6 PA.
