Tampa Bay 10 - Detroit 6: Mental errors sink Tigers in Ray-infested waters.
A fielding error, multiple basepath goofs and a balk. Sunday?s Tigers game was a tent shy of a circus.

Matt Manning's best pitch in 2022 FB arm side..in 2023..he cannot command that pitch even a little bit.

Tigers reliever Alex Lange has a 7.32 ERA with 23 walks and 22 strikeouts across 19.2 innings in 21 games since June 4.
He has a 34.8% in-zone rate over 44 innings in 45 games throughout the entire season. (MLB average for in-zone rate is 48.5%.)

DET has one legitimate OF..they need two corner OF a 2B and a 3B for 2024.

Matt Vierling has 26 RBI on the year and 5 in his last 127 AB..he's hitting .188 with RISP.

Matt Manning and his strange transformation into a breaking ball pitcher has now allowed
16 ER in his last 17 IP..
he had allowed 11 ER in his previous 30 IP. Manning is tipping his breaking ball.

since June 1

NF/OF Nick Solak has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple A Toledo.

Will Detroit Tigers keep Alex Lange as closer? A.J. Hinch is staying coy on the subject.

I would add a catcher, and starter to the needs. And unless the firstbase man hits better ?!.

Shame Harris could put this club in a better spot to win.

Kids are hitting some at Toledo this weekend. Can?t wait till September because it looks like Harris is waiting till September call ups to do anything. He would rather keep sending out triple a guys like Ibanez, Haase , mckinstry, and a few others over seeing what we have that could potentially help us.
Can?t wait to see the 3 prospects he got for Rodriguez :/

After today's stinker, the Tigers all-time franchise run differential (123 seasons) now stands at +160 runs. It hasn't been that low since 1915!

It hit its highest point (+2,524 runs) at the end of the 1988 season, 3+ years before the Ilitch family started its reign.

AAA numbers

Ibanez .289/.361/.824
McKinstry .323/.401/.951

I don't think any of the "kids" you want to see have better AAA stats than these. I certainly hope some of them work out, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Ibanezis starting to hit some lately, lets that keeps up. Last 7 games .348, Last 15 .311, last 30 games .260, and playing all over the place.

Mckinstry might be over worked and be worn out as he had to play every game when Green and Carpenter were out, and it seems like Veering was out some time as well. I'm not despairing on him right now. In fact, he carried them in the outfield early.

Tigers' outfield is in need of help, mainly health is the most need. And let's face it as many of the pitchers that been on the DL or IL or what you want to call it. Tigers have had as many out fielders on them as well. So what does that say about Tigers conditioning? This has happened before and talk about. Do they still have the 300+ trainer?

O boy do not see family selling any time soon.
