Tigers vs. royals Game 140 September 11, 2022

royals with the early 3 - 0 lead.

Some good teams the Tigers will be playing, I would not be surprised they break the team record for getting shutout in a season.

Detroit Tigers blanked, 4-0, by Kansas City Royals for 20th shutout of 2022.
Freep

The shutout was the Tigers' 20th of 2022, the most in the majors, five more than the next closest teams, the Royals and the Pittsburgh Pirates at 15.

It's the most shutouts for the franchise in a season since the 1975 Tigers were also shutout 20 times.

Only the 1905 Tigers (21) and 1904 Tigers (26) were shutout more in franchise history.

Spencer Torkelson with a six-game hitting streak (9-for-22 with 4 XBH).

On a sorta related note, Torkelson is slashing .311/.404/.498 in 14 games against the Royals this year.
