Leyland: I talked to Penny about quickening his pace on the mound. If it doesn't work, I'll take the blame.

Leyland on playoff possibilities: "I

We can only hope. The games he pitches, even good ones can be brutal.

I hope Penny has a good game.... By back later tonight after my daughters game..... Radio for me tonight...

Hopefully the day off didn't throw the boys into a funk. Keep that ALC domination train rolling!

Hmm, I thought we were going to rest some players this weekend? That seems like our A lineup out there. Good, it's not over till it's over. Wouldn't have minded seeing Avila get another day of rest today. He has to be pretty beaten up.

I'd rather he gets rest during Oakland series, all that god awful foul territory behind home plate, that's a lot of chasing.

Let Santos rover those things.

Pretty much a standard lineup for the Tigers tonight. Magglio Ordonez is in because of his track record against the Twins.

Interesting comments this afternoon from manager Jim Leyland about Brad Penny. Leyland said he had talked to Penny about picking up the pace on the mound. He meant it from a standpoint of helping Penny pitch better, not necessarily keeping the defense on their toes.

Leyland is hungry and has a dinner date after the game so he told Penny to hurry it up a bit.

Um, did I miss something? I haven't lived in Michigan for 7 years now but I never remember storms moving from East to West.

I read something once that all weather systems are born in the Pacific Ocean, hence why weather tends to move west/east in N. America.

Oddly enough I'm 1 1/2 hours north of Detroit and if you told me it was raining there I would have laughed at you, cause it's as nice here right now as it has been in weeks.

I can't be certain, but it could be all the rain we had in mass. for the past few days if that is the same east to west storm. It screwed up my plans yesterdays off day.

The Comerica groundscrew has pulled the tarp off the infield, and dumped the standing water into right field.
Tarp coming off the field at #Comerica. Still no sign of starting pitchers.
update,
Game time scheduled for 7:55. Penny walking out to bullpen to warm up.

Alright sounds like there's been a few systems like that in the past thanks guys, thought I was seeing things at first.

The poles are shifting it'll become the norm in another year or so. LOL..

There is a low pressure system SE of Michigan. The weather will rotate around that, hence the storms coming East to West. It's a little rare, but we see it from time to time.
