Game 8: Tigers at Padres, April 11th

I've noticed this about Davis...even the other day...he slides way too late when he steals. He's going to hurt himself.

Oh Miggy.

the good news is I get to go to the game tomorrow night and watch verlander throw 8 innings and lose 2-1.

apparently ausmus doesn't know the ricky rule....never leave him in longer than 5 innings. that's right where im sitting tomorrow too :D

Well, team didn't have it tonight.

Not a lot to be excited about if you're a Tiger fan, we're about to be 5-3, easily could be 2-6 and we haven't looked good at the plate at all save for 1 game. The BP is a disaster and we no longer have the starting pitching we had last year.

I'm out, the Tigers are doing bad enough themselves, but this fucking hack behind home plate going to give me a rage fit if I don;t just turn the game off.

Im glad i was at the bar all night instead of listening to this abomination.

well at least they didn't get no hit!

Getting worried about Miggy though, not like him to get off to such a bad start. very concerning. Wondering if that injury swing adjustment from last year hasn't fully adjusted back yet? meaning he forgot how his pre-injury timing/swing went.

Rolling everything over, out in front etc.. get it right Miggy! you can do it

He's just not being patient and swinging at a lot of pitches early in the count. It's only been the last couple games that he hasn't looked so good in my opinion. I wouldn't start to get concerned unless he is hitting around .250 with low power numbers come mid May or so.

We all love Miggy and Verlander, but they're not going to perform like baseball gods all the time.

Rick Porcello pitch F/x: 42 sinkers, 3 whiffs. 10 change ups 1 whiff. 18 sliders 4 whiffs, 3 hits allowed. 11 CB 1 whiff.
Petco scoreboard shows pitch type and velo, but doesn't distinguish 2/ 4 seam. 75%+ strikes for Rick but hit hard.

Probably the difference, Rick was throwing pitches over the plate, while the Padre's douchebag was getting called strikes 8 inches down and away. I'm not surprised we had a hard time hitting him, all he threw was shit, and got the calls.

Rick was leaving a lot of balls up a better hitting team woulda scored 20 off him, he was not good last night and honestly wasn't he getting shelled often in Spring games also? just add it all to the concerns list I guess
...lol

I'm not concerned with how many pitches he does or doesn't take he can swing in whatever count he wants..I'm concerned with how often and consistently he seems to be out in front and worried it might take weeks yet for him to get it all back mentally.. can't help but wonder if it's still post injury related..I had the same hernia years ago and it took me a good year before I stopped mentally thinking to be careful not to over stress it just in case
