Maybin is soft as shit, apparently. No pressure Moya, its not like you are replacing one of the hottest tiger hitters right now.

The Tigers have placed RHP Drew VerHagen on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder thoracic outlet syndrome, retroactive to May 23.

Tigers have never defeated this Ventura punk, that makes me seeth cuz I can't stand him, would really to see em beat him yet tonight, bats have been slightly over aggressive againts him tonight IMO chasing to many change ups

No lefty to face hosmer?

The tigers don't have any lefties in the pen that can actually get lefties out, Hardy was in The pen I was ok with leaving Greene in, Hardy would have given up a bomb to Hosmer

After the game, the Tigers sent right-hander Buck Farmer back to Toledo.

They did not immediately announce a corresponding move, but it is believed veteran corner infielder Casey McGehee will be signed to the 40-man roster and brought up to provide another right-handed hitting bat off the bench.

The Tigers have been one position player short for the better part of the last month.

Michael Fulmer: Just an incredible run from Fulmer. He finally surrendered a run, the rookie continues to show outstanding stuff and composure well beyond his years. 5.2 innings, five strikeouts, just one earned run.

Miguel Cabrera: Cabrera had no runners to drive in tonight but himself, as the big man went deep for a solo shot in the ninth inning. A three-hit night for the Tigers' slugger.

Mark Lowe: The Tigers' big free agent signing in the bullpen has been a debacle. His stuff looks weak, and his location isn't any better. Nuff' said.

Blaine Hardy: Where have you gone, Blaine Hardy? Another horrendous outing for Hardy, who looks about as useful as Lowe does this season.
Five earned runs in an inning of work let everyone go to bed early, at least.

The Offense: 13 LOB on the night as the offense couldn't handle Ventura or the Royals bullpen.

STREAKS AND STATS:
Jose Iglesias' hitting streak came to a halt at 14 games.

Michael Fulmer's 33.1 scoreless innings streak ranks as the longest by any Tigers pitcher since at least 1961.

The previous longest streak was 31.0, which belonged to Jack Morris (7/4-7/18/1986).

Tigers? Michael Fulmer among early contenders for AL Rookie of the Year.

The Tigers are going to need to conserve his innings as the year progresses. He reached 124 2/3 innings last year, which was a career-high. At 74 2/3 innings pitched already this year, the organization will need to get creative with only 50 innings remaining until his 2015 total is met.

The Tigers could realistically stretch Fulmer out through the end of the season without burning him out. With added rest and the MLB All-Star Break coming up in one month, there?s some wiggle room to work with. At this point, Fulmer has become a solid No. 3 fixture in the starting rotation, and there?s no sign that he?s going to let up anytime soon.
