Game Notes

Tigers vs Tomlin

Indians vs Verlander

--The Tigers haven't been able to crack the code against Cleveland this season, and it's hurting their standing in the American League Central. Detroit is 0-8 against Cleveland, and that helps explain why the Indians are in first place and the Tigers are in third place six games back entering today's game.

--The Indians have outscored the Tigers 51-17 in the eight games played so far, including Cleveland victories in the first two games of this series.

There isn't anything mysterious about it. The Cleveland Indians are dominating the Detroit Tigers this season with their pitching.

Manager Terry Francona's team is getting a good start from just about everyone he sends out to face the Tigers this season. And the starters manager Brad Ausmus is sending out to face the Indians haven't measured up.

Tigers 202 million dollar payroll.
Indians 103 million dollar payroll.

So far Avila has been a bust as the new GM. Lucky for him there is still plenty of games left to turn it around.

The biggest bust has been lowe perhaps, here we are almost July and he's got an ERA over 10, that's just pitiful and deserving of being shipped down to the muds to sort it out. That and Aviles and Lettuce being the two primary bench players is a joke.

I do wish more of the tigers would consider taking a strike once in awhile before swinging away at anything close, I mean seriously they make it way too easy, take a strike first make him work at least a little bit gawd

Wow first time the tigers have even had a lead againts the Indians this year, that's insane

Well that lead didn't last very long, jv falling apart in the 4th, got a lead didn't know what to do with it

Verlander just had a 29 pitch inning offense, take a strike please! Not just a pitch but a strike

This reminds me of how the tigers just owned the white sox for a couple years a lil bit back. On to the next series..

You've got to be f'n kidding me with this crap, so sick of this team already

The Tigers don't have a pitcher that can navigate this lineup. It's embarrassing and this season is all but over. No way they're winning a series against them this season and they just blew an opportunity to get back in the division race and instead will let Cleveland leave with a 7 game lead and a permanent spot in their heads.

Three consecutive sweeps to the Indians...completely unacceptable, season is likely over, maybe next year...or never, probebly never

Heh, If this were hockey, someone would be starting a fight right now, just to make a point.
