Indians @ Tigers 6-26-2016 Game 76

Indians have won nine straight now when was the last time the tigers had a long winning streak like that couple hundred years?

Awful embarrassing.. now 0-9 verses a team almost 100 million dollar payroll behind :/

Just won they reel us back in sweeping the Mariners they pull this shit and look like a pony league team.

Too much money to too few players = not enough for a balance 25 man roster. IE no bench, no MLB bottom of the line up, poor relief, bad minor players as a result of too many 3 for one trades. And now stars are getting older and will start under performing. In the mean time the roof is catch up on an over used bull pen. 9 to 3 helllp!

When was the last time the tigers had a big 6 or more run inning? Hundred years or so?

Lot of ground balls to third in this series, tiger bats just keep letting them pound them inside and make no adjustments at all

How anyone can sit in the hot sun @ Comerica and watch this team flop around like a fish starved of oxygen this weekend is beyond me.

Its too funny that all of the scoring in this game so far, has been by current and former Tribe players.

Easy 7 pitch 1-2-3 ninth to end it last 12 retired easily, way to roll over and play dead offense

season is over, tigers blow dead goats

Going to be awful hard to recover from another sweep like this . All the way to 7 games out of first.

Still a lot of time left. Hell, last month the White Sox were up 6 games in the division. Where are they now?

Just got back from the Syracuse/Toledo game. Toledo played like shit. Relievers gave up 5 runs. The Mudhens only had 3 hits and McGehee and two of those (and a walk). Collins misplayed a double which probably should have been an inside the park, but he was given an error.

Calling it now.

Indians vs Cubs WS in a battle of historically long championship droughts.

I would have taken one Tigers WS championship over the past 10 years, for all of their MVPs, Cys, ROYs and TCs.

Royals damn near won 2 consecitive WS, w/o a Cabrera, Martinez, Ordonez, Kinsler, Sheffield, Fielder, Guillen, Verlander, Cespedes, Pudge, Price, Scherzer, and Sanchez.

Tigers are so hamstrung by fat and long contracts, that the ballclub couldn't even do a halfway-decent job of blowing this $$$200M shitshow up @ the trade deadline next month.

Glad I missed this 3 hour turd festival.

Victor Martinez: Hit two home runs against Josh Tomlin ? one in the fourth to right and one in the sixth to left.

Mike Aviles: Homered in the third to give the Tigers their first lead of the season against the Indians. Unfortunately it wouldn?t last because of Verlander.

Justin Verlander: By Game Score, it was the worst start of his career. He gave up four homers in the fifth alone. It was ugly.

Tigers offense: V-Mart and Aviles got to Tomlin, but the rest of the lineup had just three hits and a walk, and none were for extra-base hits.

STATS AND INFO:

This is just the second time in Verlander's career that he's given up four homers in a game. His last was on Sept. 18, 2007 vs. the Indians.

Verlander?s four homers in the fifth marked the first time in his MLB career that he?s given up that many in the same frame.

The last time Verlander gave up eight-or-more runs in a start was May 25, 2014 against the Rangers when he allowed nine and had a Game Score of 14. It was just the eighth time he's given up at least that many in a start.

Verlander?s Game Score of three marks the lowest he?s ever received in any major league start. The next-lowest score was the above Rangers game.

Victor Martinez?s two home runs was the ninth multi-homer game of his career, and the second this year. His last was on June 16 versus the Royals.

The Tigers have now been swept by the Indians in all three series this year. Two were at home, and the only time the Tigers led in 2016 was when Aviles homered in the third. That lasted all of a half-inning.

This is true and your right but I just feel losing like this and getting clobbered by the indians yet again may seal our fate but I hope your right and will try not to give up. 7 games should be nothing for a 203 million dollar team.try and stay within 5 games if possible till jd gets back..

Did Collins give the Mud Hens fans "the bird?" (Pun intended)

Wow, was traveling all day so just had a chance to check the box score...4 homers in the 5th inning!?!?

What Mud Hens fans? I might have been the only one...and I was wearing a Syracuse Chiefs hat.

Temperature reached 93 during the game. Trea Turner deposited Buck Farmer's first pitch of the game over the 400 ft CF fence, and it went downhill hill from there (for the Mud Hens). Aside from that and the "inside the park" double Turner also hit, Farmer pitched fairly well. It was the pen that stunk.

3 Relievers

2.3 IP 5 H 5 ER 3 BB 0 K 1 HR

McGehee and Machado were/are the only Mud Hens hitting above .250 BAVG.

Anthony Gose hit 2nd and played RF. He tried bunting in the 1st inning. He is still under instructions to try and bunt at least once a game. Boy has that failed.

Starting Pitching for the series:

TOL 17.6 IP 19 H 6 ER 5 BB 13 SO 262 pitches

SYR 22.0 IP 15 H 5 ER 1 BB 19 SO 280 pitches
