Gose with a leadoff homerun,

Tigers lead early 1 - 0,

no shutout tonight,

beat these bastards!

Nick is swinging a hot bat the past several weeks, since he was benched.

Martinez doesn't have a RBI or extra-base hit since Aug. 20, a span of 11 games.

and that easy ground ball single past Castellanos is the reason he gives me fits. Times 2 same inning.

This game didn't take long to deduce the outcome.

Boyd 6 runs 1 inning.

Miguel Cabrera has two hits so far tonight. He's hitting .414 since coming off the disabled list.

Iggy is done. attempted bunt ball runs in on his hand/fingers. Out of the game.

Iglesias in major pain as he's helped off field. Looked like he took pitch off one of his right fingers as he turned to bunt. Romine in.

We can expect to see Dixon Machado up from Toledo.

With expanded September rosters, Tigers would not need to put Iglesias on DL to call up Dixon Machado. Simple call-up.

X-rays negative on Iglesias' right middle finger. Just a contusion. Will be reexamined on Friday.

the pitching staff is on this team overall is pretty gosh darn horrible..I was hoping to stay up long enough yet to see miggy bat again in the 8th but these damn pitchers on this team just won't let me make it..

.zzzzzzzzzz

PS Alex's dad...can you please just fire assmus already and just let one of the bench coaches finish it out, I'm getting tired of looking at that latheric deer caught in the headlights look on his face every game

STREAKS AND STATS:

-Ian Kinsler's sixth-inning double gave him 52 multi-hit games on the season, and he continues to lead all MLB in that category by three over former Tigers Yoenis Cespedes and Prince Fielder.

-Miguel Cabrera's 2-for-4 night left his batting average at .361 after he was lifted in the seventh inning. Another batting title looks well in hand.

Since April 12th and starting 6-0, DET is tied with OAK at 55-72, the worst in the AL.

Runs Given Up

DET 656 (5.2 R/G)
OAK 520 (4.1 R/G)

More than a run a game difference. BOS is next with the most runs give up, at 617 (4.9 R/G), 39 less than DET. In fact, there are only 4 AL that have given up more than 560 runs in this time-frame (DET, BOS, SEA and TEX).

Runs Scored

DET 534 (4.2 R/G)
OAK 512 (4.0 R/G)

8 AL teams have scored more runs than DET during this time-frame, 7 with 560 runs or more.

KCR is 76-51 .598 WPCT, which leads the AL. They have scored 561 runs (4.4 R/G) and given up 483 runs (3.8 R/G)
