Tigers vs. royals 8-15-16 Game 118

Justin Upton went 0-for-4 hitting into a double play in the second inning and striking out with a runner on in the ninth.
He's 1-for-27 in his last six games and hitting .140 in August.

J.D. Martinez: His 16th home run was his fourth since returning from the disabled list earlier this month.

Daniel Norris: Though he allowed base runners throughout the night and did not make it out of the sixth, Norris was able to minimize the damage, giving up just two runs in 5 1/3 innings.

The entire lineup, minus J.D.: Six hits, one run, and very few chances on offense all evening outside of Martinez’s dinger.

Shaky defense: Norris rushed a throw in the first inning that led to Cabrera’s injury, Jarrod Saltalamacchia was frozen on a squeeze play in the sixth, and even a handful of successful outs did not look pretty.

Miguel Cabrera’s injury: The Tigers already have their shortstop, third baseman, and center fielder on the disabled list, as well as a couple of starting pitchers. They can ill afford to lose another key contributor, let alone the best player on the team.

STREAKS AND STATS:
Daniel Norris made his longest start of the season and also his third longest outing since joining the Tigers last August.

The Tigers were held under two runs for the fourth time in the past eight games.

Tyler Collins was ejected in the eighth inning for the first time in his career.

The Tigers ended the game with zero position players left on the bench.

I'm not even sure I can be mad tonight...you can't be forced to play this many call-ups and then play guys out of position and not have more of these kind of nights. We need to get healthy quick.

Tigers needed this game. Now they have to win the next two to win the series. Good Grief that means Sanchez got to win his game! WE need rain Thursday!

.395 Winning PCT when McCann starts against RHP.

.660 Winning PCT when he doesn't.

I know, he isn't the one that allowed the runs to score. Yada, yada, yada.

McGehee weakly GIDP on P1 for outs 26 and 27 should cost him $25K. JMHO. Upton's 9th inn. PA should cost him the same as well. The guy would swing at the Good Year blimp if he could with the same odds of hitting it as he currently does of hitting a pitched ball.

If those are the fines...Victor should also be fined for his weak ground out on the first pitch in the bottom of the 8th. Adjusted for salary, his fine would be $890,000 (since a $25K fine for McGhee is 8 game checks)

I'm all for it. Make it hurt. Send a message. And fine Ausmus $25K every time he puts Aviles in the game, unless he raises WE in any way. Then adjust by a factor of the percentage raise divided by 0.

The fact you think it is drivel is self-explanatory.

lol

last night was a perfect example...McCann had very little to do with the result of the game yet you continue to post their record with him catching.
