Tigers vs. royals 8-16-16 Game 119

A few salient facts to consider when evaluting whether Tigers trade acquisition Erick Aybar represents a true offensive "upgrade":
According to Fangraphs.com, he ranks last among qualified hitters in wRC+ (adjusted weighted runs created) and has also experienced a dramatic uptick in his strikeout rate.
According to ESPN Stats and Info, he is striking out at a rate of 16% this season, as compared to 10.5% from 2012-15.
And over last two seasons, his hard-hit rate is 8.4%, down from 15.5% from 2012-14. In short, striking out more and making hard contact a lot less.

So we are gonna beat a minor trade like a dead horse . Ok Aybar sucks and it was a terrible trade . Move on

I didn't see where anyone said it was a terrible trade, just that it doesn't make sense unless Iggy is out for the year.

According to Tigers GM Al Avila, the sum of all the team's mounting injuries is ultimately what prompted the team to trade for Erick Aybar.
Avila said he feels like the former All-Star provides an offensive upgrade off the bench, (though it should be noted that Aybar has had a rough year, including a career-high 16% strikeout rate, according to ESPN Stats and Info).
Team still confident that SS Jose Iglesias will return during original two-week time frame.

Is McCann telling the hitters what pitch is coming? I swear the Tigers give up far more HRs with him catching.

Really?? Hog head Gordon who is batting .200 career vs. Verlander.

Upton all time low batting average of.221 his first season is in danger of being under minded. What a under achieving season he is having.
