I thought upton was going to get the series off..wonder if he was able to figure anything out

Justin Upton returns to the Tigers lineup after three games, including a total game off Friday night. He returns amidst a 1-for-31 skid, but with some success in limited at-bats (2 for 7, 2 walks 3 k's)against Red Sox starter Drew Pomeranz.
Andrew Romine makes his fourth consecutive start in center field, while Erick Aybar makes his third consecutive start at shortstop, this one against the lefty.

40 games to go

32-8 would be nice, doable?

Sorry. Maybe with the 2013 pitching staff and all the position starters healthy and not on the DL.

But with this team, even 100% healthy, they could sneak into the wild card, but imo they wouldn't get far.

Boston on pace to win 91, Baltimore 89, Seattle 87. Tigers would have to go 26-14 and that would only get the second WC

Base upon the tribe current win rate of .583 Tigers have to go 31-9 to tie for the division!

Yup. And the tigers still have seven head to head with Cleveland 7-0 wouldn't hurt, make up for 1-11

J.D. Martinez extends 11-game hitting streak with single in 2nd. He's hit in 16 of 17 since return and is 27-for-61 (.443).

J Upton does what he does best.
