Happy 4th of July! And don’t blow your hand off.

Can the Tigers survive without Miggy? Can they get back to .500 at home. Can Price continue his success against the Jays?

Miggy is on the 15 day DL for the first time in his career. He has never missed more than 14 games in a single season. Miggy has played in at least 157 games in 10 of 11 full seasons.

Price hasn’t been as good at home as he’s been on the road. He’s 2-1 and still has a 3.32 era in 7 starts at home. He does have a 2.16 era in 6 starts during the day. Lefties are hitting .268 and righties .236 against him. Tigers are 13-3 this season in games Price starts.

The 40 year old knuckle-baller has struggled on the road this year. He’s 0-5 with a 5.79 era in 7 starts, but he is 3-0 with a 2.14 era as a starter at Comerica.

Tiger batters are hitting a combined 32-104 (.308) with 14 extra base hits, 11 walks and a .922 ops against him. Rajai currently has a 10 game hit streak and is 5 for 8 against Dickey. JD may have to shoulder even more of the load now that Miggy is out. JD has 12 home runs and 30 rbi’s in his last 21 games. He now has 53 rbi’s (T5 in the AL) and only trails Miggy’s 54 for the team lead. .

The Blue Jays are 54 for 186 (.290) with a .845 ops against Price. Valencia is 12 for 17 (.706). Bautista is 15 for 47 (.319) with 5 hr’s, 6 walks and 11 rbi’s against him. Izturis is 7 for 16 and Encarnacion has 2 homers against him.

The Tigers bull pen has a 5.42 era since June.

Avila gets his 1st career start at 1B.

3rd baseman Jefry Marte was called up from Triple A Toledo to replace Miggy’s roster spot. Marte was the International League’s Player of the Month in June. He hit .317 and led the league with 8 homers, 25 RBIs, 16 extra‐base hits and 65 total bases last month. He leads the league with 55 RBIs and is tied for the league lead with 13 home runs.

The weather forecast calls for temps near 80 at game time and there is no chance of rain.

Well that's a good start...Kinsler HBP, Cespedes double, VMart rbi groundout on a 12 pitch at bat. 1-0

JD is clearly our best hitter right now! No doubter there!! Early 3-0 lead

Castellanos with a 2 out double and McCann brings him home with a triple. 4-0. Pour it on...no safe lead with the Jays.

Avila made a spectacular catch going into the stands in right field.

We are just plain retarded going from 3rd to home. Not even close there.

Price got a handshake this time....I guess he now knows his day is over.

Price goes 7 innings, 114 pitches, 8 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk and 7 k's.
