He went on ESPN radio and says he was misquoted by the media and says that he actually cares about fans:

Except that he wasn't misquoted at all, and he just threw basically every Tigers beat reporter under the bus, and they're not happy about it:

I'm starting to think that between his big mouth and his shitty pitching, he might just get cut before Opening Day. I hope he does. Fuck him.

There's nothing worse than someone who refuses to take accountability for their own actions. He sucks and he needs to go. It's always everyone else's fault. Hopefully this organization puts him out of his misery and cuts him now.
 
imo, He has a month to be the closer they thought they signed or they cut him.

It was 6 years ago today the Tigers cut Gary Sheffield batting .178 in ST with 5 homers in 45 atbats. iirc he was due $9M.
 
He is probably my least favorite Tiger in a long time. I wish they would just get rid of him.
 
not too concerned about the comments, that's fine, he's just concerned with pitching well and doesn't want to let the fans get to him.

I think you have to roll with him for a few weeks and give him a chance considering we're paying 10m no matter what. We also need to see Rondon pitch for a while and see if he can handle the 8th better than Nathan does the 9th
 
Hopefully this is the nail in his coffin. He should be asking for release now, since the fans will be booing him every time they see him no matter what.
 
I could careless how much we are paying Nathan...Soria should be the closer with that being his to lose. He is making $7 Mil to do what?

We gain more with Soria as the closer than having Nathan and/or Rondon. We are probably not trading Rondon and no one would want Nathan.
 
Cut Nathan.. He is a clubhouse cancer right now.. Eat the dough..
 
Gotta give Nathan a chance. Maybe he can bounce back. He is a tool but might still be able to help the team.
 
He may be a dickhead. But as I said before he might be able to bounce back this year.

Give him enough rope to either hang himself or loosen the noose. I don't think cutting him loose on a caboose with a goose is not the right thing to do right now.
 
You run with Soria until he falls apart.

Nathan has proven time after time that he cannot handle the role on this team. He's not entitled to the position.
