The deadline date is February 26th, but since Chicago already made a move might as well start posting the bigger ones.

To Chicago
Anthony Duclair (2nd line forward who was considered to have very high potential when drafted by the Rangers
Adam Clendening (7th defenseman, originally drafted by Chicago in 2011)

To Phoenix
Richard Panik (middle 6 forward, had breakout last season of 44 points playing with Hossa)
Laurent Dauphin (AHLers originally drafted by Phoenix in 2013, remains to be seen if he can stick around in the NHL)

Panik has similar number to Duclair, although, Duclair is 4 years younger at 22. There is chance Duclair can still hit a higher tier.

Think Bowman got one over Chayka, but given that comment by Chayka regarding Duclair, it appears he was desperate to get rid of him.

"There's a lot of things that go into a trade," Chayka said. "Some of them are readily apparent. You see Anthony play and his speed and skill is obvious to everyone. There's some things that I think should stay behind closed doors. It was a long process. We went through a lot of different approaches and a lot of different things through two different (coaching) staffs here and at the end of the day just felt that for both sides it was best to move on."

Jeff is the fall guy for Holland so that's a no.

Still in the air if Holland is returning next season.

To TB gets

Jeff Blashill, Ken Holland, Atta Boy, Signed hockey puck

To Detroit

Yzerman or Jack Adams remains

Jack Johnson of Columbus is asking for trade.

Is a UFA at end of season and looks like won't be re-signing with Columbus.

Did I mention he played for University of Michigan? Probably will be #1 free agent target for Holland if he hits free agency.

Hasn't Johnson been pretty overrated since, well, ever? Never lived up to his billing as third overall pick, never really became the offensive threat people thought, never became a lockdown defender. I get he's a Michigan guy, but the Wings main problem is at the top of their defense. Johnson isn't a true top-pairing guy, more borderline unless he has an elite linemate. Getting a guy like that only continues to exacerbate the problem of all our defenders being forced to play on a higher pairing than they are really suited.

He is overrated, but would still be best defenseman on team (assuming Green is gone).

He had 40 points with Columbus in 2014-5, not many great defenseman on that team. Best D behind Johnson was Wisniewski and he missed 25% of the season injured as usual.

Points Ranking among defenseman
2009-10: 35th (Between Suter and Byfuglein)
2010-11: 23rd (Between Doughty and Giordano)
2011-12: Tied 20th with Carle (Between Keith and Burns/Gonchar)
2012-13: Tied 39th with Chara and 3 others (Between Burns/Boyle/Seabrook/Hedman and Josi)
2013-14: 42
2014-15: Tied 26th with Klingberg (Between Brodie and Ekblad)

Around 2014-2015 was when his bankruptcy woes were getting pretty public. Early in 2015-16 season Torts took over and his number took a nosedive.

His offensive production alone from the backend would get him 5-6 million. At least at that time.

If you compare him to the current D-core in Detroit, he is better than everyone except Green. Detroit D is just that awful.

Is he what Detroit needs for the rebuild? No
Is is the type of player Holland would like? Yes
Is it the type of player Holland would overpay for? Yes
Would his presence improve the defence? Yes

All fair points. Of course, it also depends on Holland still being here in the summer. I do think Johnson is better than our other defensemen, but locking him in at 5-6 million a year seems like a great way to ensure we never build an actually good defense.

Aye future of Holland is still in the air. He's been there so long, keep forgetting his contract runs out this year.

If Detroit gets a new GM, I think there is a strong possibility of Holland staying in an "advisery" role within the club.

If you see a veteran, 30+, with some ties to Michigan than sure.

Bonus points if he is injury prone or currently injured.

No more 30+ years old please. Unless last contract year and we trade away a throwaway player.
