They gonna put him in CF or is he just gonna sit on the bench and play once every couple weeks?

His service time officially starts.

He has started all but the last 2 games in RF for TOL. The last 2 games they switched him to LF. He spent most of last year in RF, with moving to LF later on is the season. All of 2014 was spent in RF.

this organization leaves me scratching my head. If you were thinking of calling him up, why not do it before the Nats series. Playing in the NL park you know you are going to have more pinch hitting opportunities. Wouldn't you figure you would want a LH bat with power on the bench?

Maybe there's something about players you activate and how long they have to stay with the team they went to? Or the so-simple process of optioning players? IDK

The assumption in one or two of the links is with Moya playing a few games in LF the past week, he would move there and Upton goes to CF.
Hardy hasn't pitched since iirc May 5th and just needs work.
The Tigers brain trust just seems to be a day late and a dollar short all to often.

He's been injured 3 times this season. Hopefully it leaves him on the unemployment line.
Last I heard he was starting to play cf, unless there was a setback I'd be surprised of he wasn't activated soon.

1. Ian Kinsler, 2B
2. J.D. Martinez, RF
3. Miguel Cabrera, 1B
4. Victor Martinez, DH
5. Nick Castellanos, 3B
6. Justin Upton, CF
7. Steven Moya, LF
8. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
9. Jose Iglesias, SS

That lineup actually looks pretty good for a change
Defensively our outfield is awful but I'm OK with the shakeup.

The two spot in the lineup hasn't produced with either Upton or JD despite his homerun last night.
No time to look up, but I would bet compared to other teams batters in the 2 spot the Tigers are very low.
I thought putting Iggy there would solve it, but they haven't done that.

He was starting to play CF when he got hurt the 2nd time and third time. And it's not like he's a savior. His career as a whole is not good. Basically, the guy blows.

Tigers outfield last in MLB in combined WAR right now for team outfields.

14th out of 15 with a .235 OBP from our #2 spot. Most of that was from Upton though. I'm open to letting JD stay for a bit longer.
